Ruffles and Gladiators

That’s right dear readers…today I am featuring TWO trends that I am obsessing over. I personally think it is always fun to mix and match different trends. Now, you do have to be careful when doing this because you never want to overdo it. Too much of a good thing is still too much, after all.

Let’s start with ruffles. I am loving this trend. There is something so feminine about a ruffle. Whether on a dress or a top, a ruffle just adds a certain amount of whimsy to make you feel truly girly. The off the shoulder ruffle top is a huge, huge trend. Tons of designers are taking this design and putting their own spin on it. From Self Portrait to Topshop, these tops can be found everywhere and at any price point. And they are a great summer look. You can take them from day to night fairly easily and they fit into any kind of situation from a pool party to a night out.

My next new obsession is the high heeled gladiator. I have been a fan of the gladiator for years and was one of the first people to recognize the trend. I still wear my tall Stuart Weitzman gladiators three years later…it actually may be time for a new pair!

I have to say that the first pair of high heeled gladiators I saw were on my mother. I know! Whose mother wears high heeled gladiators? Mine does. She is, like myself and my sister, quite a little fashionista. I immediately fell in love but couldn’t find them anywhere! Cut to two years later and a recent episode of Real Housewives of NYC, and the love affair started all over again. I immediately started my google search until I was able to find them. And find them I did! Best find I’ve made in quite some time.
